Lets have some fun

I am back after a very long time. During this time, two important events happened in my life. First of all, I graduated from Tilburg University on September 6, 2010 and second one which in fact happened six days before my graduation; and it is my new job in Technical University Eindhoven as a Doctoral Candidate from September 1, 2010. I am very thankful to Almighty who has blessed me with His endless bounties and I pray that may all of you  also see your dreams coming true soon. Amen.

As per the title of my blog, I am going to tell you about some fun related thing. It is because our nation really needs some fun. Since July 28, 2010 when a private plane crash happened near Margalla Hills, so many dreadful events happened proceeded serially in a very designed manner, one after the other such that the whole nation is wretched with pain, praying to get rid of all the calamities following our nation. We all got so busy in fighting against the natural calamities and man made desasters that now we don't know what happened to the plane. The last news I got was that the black box was found. What happened after that, I dont know. If somebody knows about further investigation, please let me know.

Oops i diverted from the fun thingy, which fun I am talking about. Let me tell you how I keep myself happy and light. Sometimes, when I feel lonely in the breezy Autumn or cold snowy nights of winters, I switch my laptop on, type the URL http://www.youtube.com/ and then search for ALTAF HUSSAIN's clips. Yes the one who is leading MQM since 1984 and will remain the leader for an unforceable time period. Don't get bewildered after reading this. If you never experienced this fun, I would highly recommend you to watch it and decide yourself. Can any best comedian ever beat our Altaf. I claim "NO". I don't why Imran Khan says, "I feel pity on those people and wonder why they go and listen to his speeches"? At least he brings smile on your face and make your happy. Imran Khan, the people who go to listen to his speeches are in search of fun which is available for free. You want to take this single piece of fun from the lives of Karachiites. Please don't do that. So Mr. Imran Khan leave us alone as we will never give up this costless opportunity of laughter from our lives. I have a recommendation for you Mr. Khan to at least watch "Punjab ko Salam" and get some laughters also in your life.
Well, please just don't stop reading my blog now. My blog is not to recommend this. It wanted to make my blog a little sweet & sour by adding some political spices in it. I have a fun game to share with you. Yesterday I was in a session about Social Networks. The lecturer was explaining some kinds of social networks and he asked a question! Do you know how short is the path length of a Social Network now? If you don't believe, then let us look at an Actor naming Kevin Bacon and let us find his connection with any actor in the world. Suddenly he shifted the question to me, tell me the name of any Pakistani Actor. I was astonished for a while just because I could not bring any Pakistani Actor in my mind. Does any Pakistani Actor know Acting...???? hey don't get emotional, i am just joking. He asked me 3 time "Any Pakistani Actor??? No one .... and suddenly a name popped up in my mind, I replied, okay I know an Actor, "Shan". How do you spell it, he asked. I spelled it. S-H-A-N. He put the name into a field. I saw the Web Page, the title was "The Oracle of Bacon" with URL: http://www.oracleofbacon.org/ The Professor then asked the whole class if they knew this actor. Every body replied in negation. By that time, he had typed the name. As he pressed ENTER, it showed Shan's connection with Kevin Becon. This isn't correct, may be its some other Shan, I said in my heart. Professor asked me if this is the same actor, and said the connection loudly:

ShaanII= was in => Khuda ke Lia (2007) = with => Jocelyn Wesler = was in => Death of a President(2006)=with => Gerry Becker = was in => Sleepers (1996) ==>Kevin Becon.

To my surprise, he was the same Shan that I referred to. I nodded surprisingly. Pupils were smiling. Every body then got a courage to take the names of their local actors/ actresses and there was a connection. It was amazing that no single connection was longer than three nodes. I was then desperately waiting the class to end as I wanted to check out this fun game myself. Professor further explained, there is nothing important about Kevin Becon. He stands on number 507 in the list of people who have a highly built-up network (those who have worked with most actors/ actresses). It is the beauty of Social Networks that beautify Kevin Becon and others like him. As I reached home, I started to investigate this magical networked world myself. I put all the names of actors/ actresses I knew and they had a connection with Kevin Becon. Even unknown or local (punjabi, pushto movie) actors/ actresses had a link with Kevin. I enjoyed it a lot. After exploring this phenomena of networks, the old axiom stroke my mind that the world is really very small. Yes it is. I hope you will also enjoy exploring the small world as I did. Have a nice weekend. Bye for now.

  1. Dear Miss Sadaf,

As you wrote in your stupid post that Mr. Altaf Hussain is the best comedian in Pakistani politics so this is just for your information that all such type of stuff like 'Punjab ko Salam' are the parodies and dubbing on Altaf bhai's speech. Kindly refrain to post such type of things on your blog which have no connection with the reality. You have many other issues to discuss for gaining the cheap publicity.

    Regards,
    Azeem Fazal

  2. Haha..
I am sure Altaf bhai is nominated for the best comedian in the world and he will be unbeatable in this regard.

Moreover, many congratulations for graduating from top European university in business and economics research. MPhil in Finance from Tilburg university is one of the most valued in the academic world.

Congrats also for setting off the journey of research! I am sure you will definitely be the biggest asset in academics for Pakistan. Amen and InshaAllah.

    Keep it up,
    Sohayl Ehmed Shaykh

  4. And Azeem, Use your MQM Mafia politics ways on someone else not on me. And if you have concerns over my blogs, dont read!

  5. Dear Sadaf,

That was my advice to you that you have many other and better ways to gain the publicity except criticizing on the popular personalities to gain very cheap publicity. Masha Allah you are very qualified and religious so you should know that to break someone's heart is a very big sin and Altaf bhai rules on the hearts of millions of Pakistanis so you broke the heart of millions and you should apologize on your words otherwise you have to answer on the day of judgment.

BTW Miss Decent, I think that my last comment was directly hit on your heart that's why you forgot how the decent person reply in a decent way.

In the end many congrats on your graduation. Allah give you more success in your life. (Ameen)

  6. Dear Azeem,
1- I have posted an eye opening article for you. Please read but don't say it is false or dubbed or whatever.
2- Please also dont say that this 19-20 years compaign was run by the lovers of Altaf and he had no contribution in it. He obviously had.
3- My blogs are not to gain any publicity, i am not an actress or politician. I have a small number of friends on msn and I want to share my ideas with them.
4- Thanks for wishing me. I was really surprised how any political leader can create such differences between us that you forgot our 10 years old acquaintance and also forgot to wish me. Thanks for your prayers also.

  7. Sadaf, actually I also agree with you that this style of addressing is little funny, but you know you should try to write both side of face, as he is the only person who made us realized about the Jageerdarana , waderana Nizam, and Maroosi Siyasat, that has occupied our Nation, and the most important thing that Altaf hussain is the only leader who has given opportunity to the middle level people not his relatives to participate in politics, and that's why can see difference in Karachi.

Any how nice writing , your blog follower.

    Cheers :)

  8. Yes, indeed I agree with you. He gives middle class people a chance to become billionnair. If you dont agree, look into the assets of Babar Ghauri. Before entering into politics, he was a middle class and ministry earned him millions of dollars in USA. Cheers :)
Altaf himself is a Jageerdar; his criticism over Zardari is meaningless

  9. Still you can not compare Ghauri with the Zardari or Muslim League (N), but this is truth that you will not find Altaf Hussain's relatives in politics behind him.

  10. There is one strong point about Altaf. His supporters are so strong in their faith in him that whatever he does, they will keep protecting him. Everybody knows about him you express or not. Of course, there is no comparison between MQM and PML-N and PPPP. They are only doing corruption not corruption+terrorism like MQM. I am really impressed with Altaf Hussain and his party in this regard. Credit goes to Altaf only.

Another important thing is that when i wrote against PPP, no supporter of PPP stood up because they realize their leaders flaws. But when it came to Altaf, my blog is full of comments favoring him. "Altaf bhai, you are great".

  11. Your are right whenever you will talk realistically no one will set objection on your post, MQM corruption comes at the end of queue where other parties are on top of that, I think you did not visit Karachi or Hyderabad properly, please see once in detail then you might realize that changes in city's infrastructure entirely or providing water to even liyari is not corruption. I am not saying that MQM or Altaf Hussain is saint, but try to find that blame that people accept on MQM. If you want to listen about MQM please check point of view of Nisar Ahmed Famous Punjabi writer, might help you to understand current bad politics in Pakistan.

  12. Infrastructure and infrastructure! This is the only thing that MQM people bring as a piece of justification for good governance of MQM. Please justify the brutal killing of Pashtoons in Karachi. Please justify the scary atmosphere of Karachi in case of any event/ incident. Please justify the incident of 12th may. Please justify the melicious "Inqilaab Statement" from Altaf. Please justify the terrorizing behavior of MQM leaders on news channels (I am sorry but they this is the only party where the leaders show themselves as confirmed rogues). If the governance of MQM is so good, why can't be keep any good mobile, car; why our properties are always at stake in Karachi? And please don't bring those insane news channelists like Lucman and Nisar Punjabi. I offer them to come and live in Karachi then give their comments. Its very easy to give comments from Punjab! but very difficult to actually live in such an intimidate environment.

Also: I urge those who are commenting on this post, please give your opinion on "An Eye-Opening Article". See you all there!
